World Statistics on Obesity report | More obese women

World Statistics on Obesity report - more obese women

Ten years ago, visible as the World Health Organization obesity most obvious, but neglected public health problem in the world. Today, guidelines of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to determine who is considered overweight or obese based on body mass index is a measure of the height and weight in proportion sets. About half of women of reproductive age are considered obese women under World Health Organization guidelines (they use body fat analysis to make the distinction) is not in this category with the NIH guidelines.

The international guidelines are much tougher - about half of white women and more than two-thirds of Latinos in the U.S. will be obese by the WHO guidelines. WHO projects that by 2015 nearly 2.3 overweight billion adults and more than 700 million are obese.

Why are we all so much to gain weight?

Worldwide, our diet to a higher intake of energy dense foods high in fat and sugar but with a few vitamins, minerals and other nutrients to move.

Look at portion sizes. The other reason for our weight gain is a trend towards less physically active - we are working at the computer, go anywhere and generally do less physical things, all through our day

We know that the implementation of additional weight, a little or a lot, a major risk factor for numerous chronic diseases, such things as diabetes, disorders of the musculoskeletal system, heart disease and some (endometrial, breast and colon) cancer.

Where once only was overweight in high-income countries, overweight and obesity are found today on the rise in low-to middle-income nations, especially in the cities.

The Body Mass Index (BMI) is used to determine who is overweight and who is not, in itself, a simple calculation of weight and height. It's the same formula for both men and women over 15 years. A BMI 25 to 29.9 is considered overweight, a BMI of 30 or older are obese, are surprisingly there is evidence that the risk goes up for chronic diseases, even with BMI as low as 21st In terms of body fat analysis, the WHO criteria for obesity is a body fat measurement by more than 25% in men, 35% for women.

Many do come to think that BMI is not perfect, the reliable measurement of weight we are. It might not work the same degree of obesity in different people. Experts fear that the uncertainty of this measurement, prevention of obesity programs for those who really need it could deny.

The good news is that, how much weight they carry is largely under control.

If you are an obese women and are concerned about your weight, today is the day to make the changes to get your weight under control. Moving forward, understand that all those extra pounds did not happen overnight and will not be deleted in a few days or weeks. Slow, steady weight loss is what you want and it did not take long to add one or two pounds per week, to smaller sizes, feel better and us to boot incredible!
